Hello lovely! I’m Jenn, Chicago Fine Art Wedding and Portrait Photographer!
I’m a mom, a wife, strong-willed, and emotionally driven person who loves people, adventures, and all the time with my family and friends that I can get! My wife is Active Duty Navy, and we are a family that has to roll with the punches and enjoy every second that we have together. We’ve been married for 6 years, I’m the one that always forgets how many years it’s been (oops!), and we have a tiny, spunky, sassy, loving ray of sunshine named Adeline that keeps us on our toes every day!
I love that I get to do a job that allows me to be my best self in multiple worlds. I get to be a full time mom, homemaker, and Wedding Photographer! Getting to dedicate myself to everything that I love at the same time is something I never could have imagined, and I owe it all to my amazing wife for being supportive, encouraging, and for putting up with all the craziness along the way!
When it comes to your Photography, my goal is to create a one-of-a-kind experience from start to finish. From the moment you contact me, we work together to create your truly customized Chicago Wedding or Portraiture Collection.
Your Wedding Day happens once-in-a-lifetime, and deserves a truly unique and personal experience when it comes to your Wedding Photography!
My job is to get to know you as a couple; what makes you laugh? What do you enjoy doing together? What is your life like when no one is looking? Throughout your planning experience, I make it my personal goal to really get to know your true selves.
From planning your session over coffee to picking out your Heirloom Wall Art or Albums, I will walk you through every detail and make sure that your images are preserved and ready to show off to all of your friends and family!
I have such a strong passion for printing your images. One of my favorite memories as a child is going to my Grandma’s basement and digging through her bucket of photos. The smell, the feel of the old black and white photo, and the place that it took me too. So full of life, history, and memories. Or flipping through my Mom’s old photo albums… you know, the ones with the sticky pages and clear film covering? All yellow from years and years of love. Seeing the progression of time from love, to children, to growing as a family. I want so badly for future generations to have this felling of nostalgia too. One day, when my daughter is grown and maybe has a daughter of her own, I want her to find albums in MY basement. Images to flip through and relive a little bit of her past.
Curating Custom Wall Art, Albums, and Specialty Products using your Wedding Portraits, Engagements Portraits, or Family/Couples Portraits is such a great experience for you AND for me! My Heirloom Products are meant to last for Generations; to be passed down to your children and grandchildren, and to really keep your memories alive for years!
Things you might want to know about me
1.) I’m a Girl Mom. We’ve now reached the point in our lives where the sass is strong, but the “I love you Mommy” and “I want to snuggle with you” still exist, so I’m holding on for dear life and praying it lasts forever. A mom can dream, right?
2.) I’m going to cry. At some point during your wedding, emotion is going to consume me, and a tear or two will fall. Usually the ceremony passes by and I’m so busy I don’t even have time to let it get to me, but during your reception, all bets are off.
It’s PROBABLY going to be during you father daughter dance… or your toasts. I just can’t help it… it’s too beautiful! And if someone is giving a speech and gets choked up?? That’s all she wrote. Now, don’t worry. I won’t ugly cry, but if you see me holding a tissue just know that I’ll be all right.
3.) I’m a DIE HARD Steelers fan. Born in Pittsburgh and raised with black and gold in my veins. I grew up watching the games every Sunday, waving my Terrible Towel and crying when we won the Super Bowl…. TWICE…
We travel to Pittsburgh every chance we get, and catch as many games at Heinz Field as possible! In Chicago, you can find up flying the BIGGEST Steelers Flag we can find, just so there’s no confusion about who we’ll be rooting for on game day!
4.) I love to cook. My Grandma used to make the most delicious meals, and I always remember coming back inside and smelling something delicious that she had been working on! It gave me a passion for following recipes and putting my heart and soul into what I feed my family!
On Thanksgiving, I’m one of those crazy people who start cooking 5 days ahead of time and makes everything from scratch! It’s something I’m trying to instill in my tiny human. She already loves to crack eggs, mix cookies, and lick the spatula! My spice collection is starting to get so large that it barely fits in my spice cabinet, and I have so many gadgets (which Wendy isn’t really convinced I NEED) that every other cabinet is filled.
5.) I never had a wedding. We were married in a little courthouse, with two friends, and a handful of sprinkles. Back then, we didn’t have the luxury of family support, the funds for a beautiful dress, or the time to plan! It was still a day that is one of my best memories, and I will cherish it forever.I think that’s what fuels my passion for capturing the special moments of the day! I live vicariously through all of my couples! The beauty of the moment, the pure raw emotion, and the promise of everything the future holds is something I love seeing each and every time!
6.) I haven’t always been a Wedding Photographer. In fact, I wasn’t always a PHOTOGRAPHER at all! I’m a University of Colorado Graduate with a degree in History and Secondary Education! I wasn’t until my mom bought me my first camera that I even realized how much I loved capturing moments!
