Sunset Sand Dune Engagement | Kenosha, Wisconsin
This is an Engagement Session that I was dying to capture, and I’m so excited to share it with you! If you’re ever wondering what “Golden Hour” looks like, and why on EARTH it’s called that, this is your spot! Sunset is a beautiful time to take your Engagement Photos, and if we’re REALLY lucky, you’ll get this amazing glow that will make you drool over your Engagement Photos every. single. time.
Richard & Christina came to me SO MANY months ago wanting me to shoot their Engagement Session! They were so sweet, and I knew that their photos would be amazing. Being a California girl, Christina had a clear image in her mind of what she wanted her engagement photos to look like. Sand. Glow. You know, that California dream!
Problem: they live in Illinois. And it was summer. Think LUSH greenery, wildflowers, tall trees. Not exactly what she had in mind! I’m not going to lie, I was a LITTLE nervous that we wouldn’t be able to find her dream spot in the Illinois or Wisconsin area! So, I SCOURED the area for over a month to get her the perfect options, and we found a GEM! Ultimately, we settled on the Kenosha Sand Dunes as our destination, just a short 20 minute drive across the border to Wisconsin from where Christina and Richard live!
The Kenosha Sand Dunes are really the perfect mix of sand, grass, and that Wisconsin summer green. Plus, the sand dunes are backed by tall trees that gave us that amazing peek of glow from the setting sun that is to DIE for!
Christina has a gorgeous style, and when it came to her outfit for her Engagement Photos, the very first thing she talked to me about during our planning sessions was a BIG FLUFFY tulle skirt! I’m SO excited that she decided to go for it, because backed by that sunset it was SO beautiful! Her second outfit was an amazing compliment to the Sand Dunes, also! That Blush color not only stood out from the sandy beach hills, but also is one of her Wedding Colors! Their Save the Dates are going to really set the stage for their wedding perfectly!
During their engagement session, Richard & Christina were NATURALS! We had a few great laughs, mostly when we tried to teach Christina how to skip rocks (which was an epic fail, but she gets an A for effort!) and when I tried to get Richard to loosen up his military bearing a little! He was such a good sport, and as always, ended up having fun, despite his preconceived outlook on having his engagement photos taken! We had an outfit change in the middle of the open grasslands, and took it back to our childhood days blowing dandelions in the summer sunset. Their Engagement Session was really magical!
Enjoy Richard & Christina’s Kenosha Sand Dunes Engagement Photos! Leave them some love!
Congratulations Richard & Christina!
