Before Your Wedding Day:
Buy a Gift –Giving a special gift to your fiance or groomsmen? Make sure you have your gifts picked out, purchased and all wrapped up with a pretty bow. Once the gifts are boxed up and ready to go, ask someone to be in charge of bringing these gifts to your getting-ready location if need be!
Tie a Tie – Learn how to tie your tie, bow tie, fold your pocket square, or attach your boutonnière!! This small task may be something you haven’t done in a while and practicing it before your wedding day will have your ties & folds on point and camera ready!
Practice Putting Your Jacket On – In a mirror. Yes, trust me! We will be working together to capture
Writing Your Vows – If you and your fiance agreed on writing your own vows, make sure yours are written and ready to go at least a week before the wedding (this time
Cut Your Hair – Plan on getting a pre-wedding hair cut? Make sure you plan on doing this one
On Your Wedding Day:
Your Groomsmen – Groomsmen have a tendency to wander, or overestimate the amount of time they have left before ceremony hour (sorry guys!). Have someone keep tabs on all your groomsmen and make sure they arrive on time to the agreed upon location before the start of your ceremony.
Groomsmen Gifts – Those gifts you picked out for your groomsmen a month ago? Have them on hand to gift the morning of your wedding, at your getting ready location. Bridal party gifts tend to be sentimental or hilarious and this is an awesome moment for you and your groomsmen to capture. We will definitely be taking some photos of this for you and the guys to remember this moment by!
Drink enough – Water! Drink enough water! You want to drink some water but not too much, you don’t want to be uncomfortable or conversely parched with a dry mouth when ceremony time comes. If you and your groomsmen are planning on doing a round of shots, keep it to one or two MAX!
Love Note – Scribble a quick love note and have it hand delivered to your fiancé. A handwritten note will score you MAJOR points and it will help set the tone for your ceremony. It’s also a nice memento of your wedding day and something that doesn’t have to be shared outside of the two of you.
Bluetooth – Have a Bluetooth speaker? Bring it with you to your hotel or venue. Playing your favorite playlist with the boys will help lighten the mood and make your waiting time more enjoyable and relaxed.
Shoes – I wouldn’t say this if it didn’t need to be said, from past experience (trust me), but make sure everyone has BOTH of their shoes!!
Check-In – Check in with your fiance and their attendants to see if they need a break or a quick hand with any last minute items. If you and your fiance have an agreement not to talk or see each other until your first look or down the aisle, you can send a quick text to mom or dad to see if they can pop in and ask for you.
Alright grooms, now that you’re informed and ready for your big day, which of the items on ‘Before Your Wedding Day’ will you be crossing off first?
